Whether deep under the ocean in Bermuda, kissing a dolphin in Nassau, or atop a glacier in Alaska you can find Talula anywhere but at home.

Talula Guntner holds a BA in Elementary Education/Library Science from Columbia College and a Masters of Arts in Education and Human Development with a specialization in Travel and Tourism as well as an Ed. S. degree from the George Washington University. Working in the travel industry in the Washington, D.C. area since 1972, she has managed a full service agency, a cruise agency and a group agency. For six years she was the director of a travel school. Currently she is a Professor of Travel and Tourism at Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC). She is a member of IFWTO, the International Federation of Women Travel Organizations. She is past President of PROST, Executive Women in Travel and of the Bons Vivants Travel Club in D.C. and is a past co-chair of the Mid-Atlantic ICTA forum. In 1989 she was the recipient of the ASTA Avis Rent a Car scholarship. On the Annandale campus of NVCC she is the club advisor of the ASTA Future Travel Professionals club, on the Campus Council and the college's speakers' bureau. In addition to speaking locally, she was a speaker for ASTA'sTravel Educator's Forum (1990), ASTA Future Travel Professionals (1997), ASTA Trainingfest (1998), ASTA World Congress (2000), Louisiana Tourism Travel & Tourism Summit (2001), ASTA Southern Expo (2001) and Air Jamaica World of Travel (2001 & 2002). She has reviewed travel text books and evaluated travel correspondence courses. She authored: Learning Apollo Basic and Advanced Training (Delmar) and, more recently, the Mature Adult Travel Specialist book for ASTA's Home Study Program. NVCC offers a travel certificate and an associate degree program in travel as well as one credit weekend classes on specialty travel, travel writing, travel on the Internet, travel for seniors, and being an independent contractor. You can earn earn 3 college credits (TRV 298) for attending the ASTA World Congress in Strasbourg, France. Out of town students will have web assignments to make up for two class meetings.
